Every Rangers player with contract expiring at the end of 2026-2027 season
Rangers' summer window was busy but attention may turn to the contract situations of those in their squad.
Several members of the current Ibrox crop are approaching a crucial point in their careers in Glasgow.
Both their performances and place in Derek McInnes' pecking order could decide as to whether they remain in G51 beyond this season.
Or be allowed to seek a new club as a free agent.
Decisions will eventually need to be made as Rangers will want to limit how many players they miss out on transfer fees for.
The ownership will have to decide whether those in this situation deserve fresh terms or should be allowed to depart for free.
The Rangers players currently on track to leave for free in 2027
Rangers have quite a few players in the final year of their contracts.
John Souttar's current terms expire at the end of the season, and with him out of favour it is unlikely he is offered a new deal.
The Gers do hold an option to extend that to 2028 though, which may be taken up in order to gain a transfer fee for him.
Ross McCausland is also on track to depart for free following the season's conclusion.
Flop signing Jose Cifuentes looks also set to end his Rangers nightmare with his 2023 signed four-year deal set to end in 2027.
Additionally, Bailey Rice, who is out on loan at Kilmarnock, has a contract set to expire at the end of the season.
However, the Gers do hold an option to extend that by a further year.
What is the situation with Rangers' current loanees?
Rangers have signed four players on initial loan deals this summer with all of them having the option to remain on longer terms.
James Penrice is one of those players, but the defender's loan does include an option for the Bears to make that a permanent transfer.
Based on his current form, Penrice is certainly inching towards that option being taken up.
English defender Ben Godfrey, who joined on loan from Atalanta, also has an option to keep him at Ibrox permanently.
Rangers have also negotiated an option to buy for winger Badredine Bouanani, who joined the Glasgow side on deadline day.
While Kosta Nedeljkovic has a conditional obligatory buy clause, based on him reaching a certain amount of appearances for Rangers.
So, technically none of the four is guaranteed to remain at Ibrox after the 2026-2027 season.
