Union Bears make official announcement ahead of Rangers vs Hibernian at Ibrox
Rangers fans are deeply unhappy with the crisis unfolding at the club, and have now planned action to protest in anger at what has happened.
Russell Martin’s appointment was negatively received from the very beginning, but the reaction has now been justified given how badly it has gone.
Rangers are winless in five league games, and their upcoming Premier Sports Cup clash with Hibernian is a must-win game for the manager.
The Rangers directors who brought Martin in are also facing criticism, and the fan group, the Union Bears, have now made a statement.

Union Bears plan protest for Rangers vs Hibernian
The Union Bears are a very outspoken fan group at Rangers, who have been at odds with the club hierarchy over different issues in the past.
With many fans wanting Martin gone, the Union Bears released a statement demanding that Martin and Patrick Stewart are relieved of their roles.

The Rangers CEO joined in November last year, but has been targeted by fans after Stewart delayed the sacking of Philippe Clement and is now seemingly doing the same with Martin.
With Rangers set to face Hibs at 5.45 pm on Saturday, the Union Bears have confirmed that they will be protesting outside the main entrance of Ibrox at 4.30 pm before the game.

Kevin Thelwell escapes brunt of Rangers fan criticism
While Martin has been a figurehead of failure and clearly needs to leave, it is somewhat surprising that Stewart is the only member of the club hierarchy named in the Union Bears’ demands to leave.
Kevin Thelwell has come in for criticism as he also played a part in the hiring of Martin, while some of his signings, such as defensive flop Emmanuel Fernandez, may have set the club back further.
49ers Enterprises director Gretar Steinsson has also been criticised recently, but the Bears have only targeted Stewart, perhaps given that he has been at the club longer than some of the new hierarchy.
Fans may never truly know who played the biggest part in the decision to hire Martin, but Stewart has now been labelled as an enemy of progress, and there is now vocal opposition to his presence at the club.
