The former England ace believes the Hoops have let the Gers back into the title race after failing to invest in their team before deadline day.
With 13 new players arriving at Ibrox since Martin took charge of the Light Blues, fans in G51 will hope the Scottish manager can turn the tide despite the poor start due to Celtic’s own struggles.
Speaking on the Record Sport Celtic Podcast on 2 September, Sutton said: “I can’t recall them having a worse transfer window, and it’s the knock-on implications of it. First of all, they have let Rangers — and if you want to include Hearts — well and truly into a title race. There’s no doubt about it.”

Russell Martin sack on cards at Ibrox
Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises have seemingly backed Martin for now, but things could potentially change in the coming weeks.
The Gers will return to action on 13 September against Hearts, which will undoubtedly be a significant test for the former Southampton boss at Ibrox.
