Rangers reject last-gasp Italy approach for Connor Barron transfer out of nowhere

Rangers had an extremely busy deadline day, working until the last hour to secure their incomings and finalise their outgoings.

Russell Martin remains under severe pressure, with Rangers still winless after four Scottish Premiership matches this season.

This has led to Martin completely changing his strike force, with Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski bearing the goal-scoring responsibility this season.

However, Rangers have had plenty of other transfer deals to contend with, including maintaining their stance that Connor Barron was not available to other clubs.

Rangers reject last-minute Bologna approach for Connor Barron

David Edgar has reported on X that Barron stayed put at Rangers after a late loan approach was made by Bologna for the 23-year-old midfielder.

Barron joined Rangers from Aberdeen last summer, with the midfielder making 51 appearances so far for Rangers.

Barron has only started one game this season, Rangers’ 0-0 draw with Celtic, and despite the fact that he hasn’t scored a goal for the club yet, the tenacious midfielder has been a great addition.

Nicolas Raskin another midfielder staying at Rangers

Alongside Barron, teammate Raskin has also decided to stay at Ibrox.

Raskin faced great speculation regarding his future, but ultimately decided to commit to Rangers for this season, with crisis talks to follow.

The Belgium international has been at the club since January 2023, scoring six goals and registering 16 assists in that time.

With Rangers in crisis mode at the moment, retaining the services of Barron and Raskin does give some hope to the fans who have been demanding change.
