Rangers v Aberdeen: Steven Thompson slams something ‘abysmal’ he saw at Ibrox
Rangers recorded a superb 4-0 victory over Aberdeen at Ibrox as their season nears its conclusion.
Barry Ferguson recorded his first win at Ibrox in eight attempts as Rangers blew Aberdeen away in the second half.
Rangers had nothing to play beyond pride heading into the game, but put on a show in the second half after a dull opening 45 minutes.
Goals from Vaclav Cerny, Cyriel Dessers, Hamza Igamane and Jefte secured the win, as Rangers blew Aberdeen apart in the second half, and former Gers star Steven Thompson had a lot to say about the visitors.

Thompson slams Aberdeen defence after Rangers win
Former Rangers striker Thompson was commentating on the game on BBC Radio Scotland [11 May], and he tore into the Aberdeen defence after Igamane netted the third goal.
“The finish is absolutely top drawer,” Thompson stated of Igamane.

“He gets the ball fired at him, takes a touch into the air, then fires it into the bottom corner from 20 yards.
“The clearance from Aberdeen, though. This second-half performance, defensively, has been abysmal.”
Igamane made a huge difference as he came on for Nedim Bajrami at half time, and this helped expose the frailties in Aberdeen’s back line in the second period.

Igamane changes the game for Rangers
Bajrami had an anonymous display on the left wing in the first half, and was rightly substituted at half time by Ferguson.
Igamane came on in his place, and was exceptional, playing some outstanding passes into his teammates, and creating more attacking threat with his movement.
The 22-year-old then netted his 12th Scottish Premiership goal of the season with the best finish of the day, and the chance came from some more woeful Aberdeen defending.
Rangers fans will now hope for Igamane to get more minutes, particularly if it is at the expense of Bajrami, where he can showcase his remarkable finishing ability more.
Aberdeen, meanwhile, have won two of their last five games, and their second-half performance was a complete mess as they succumbed to Rangers’ pressure.
